CDC Morgellons Study Participants Honored in Online Advocacy Video

False information is spreading around the internet suggesting the CDC study did not include any actual Morgellons patients and that no fibers were looked at. Clearly this is incorrect.

40% of the fibers studied were “superficial skin”, consistent with later findings that the filaments originate inside the human body from epithelial cells and are comprised of keratin and collagen. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27789971/

All 12 patients had evidence of Lyme disease, consistent with the association with spirochetal infections demonstrated in later research. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25879673/

Finally, the CDC study was inconclusive. They did not conclude these patients were “crazy”. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22295070/
